. Order of Service

The Service formally begins at 10:30 AM with a Welcome and Opening Hymn. We have a loving group of people here so normally our Greet and Bless your Neighbor portion receives a lot of attention with hugs all around. We do respect the customs and wishes of others and defer when individuals prefer to stay in their pew and offer a simple handshake or nod. After this we join together for another hymn followed by a reading from our monthly meditation booklet: the At-One-Ment, and our Statement of Being.

We begin to prepare for the Meditation and Lesson with a short prayer, followed by singing the Lords Prayer. Our guided Meditation time is in lieu of a formal communion, followed by the weekly Lesson. We sing one more hymn prior to the Offertory and Benediction. Singing the Peace Song concludes the service.

We have no mission program and we do not proselytize, we believe our teaching must be one of attraction. If you do not see or hear anything that appeals to you we respectfully pray that you find what ever it is of Spirit that you are seeking.

A Brief Summary of the Teachings of Divine Science

The religious philosophy of Divine Science is spiritual monism.  The fundamental word is Omnipresence. From beginning to end our teaching and method stress this truth. All the greatest thinkers of the world have recognized a supreme Power.

The idea of Divine Science is inclusiveness. Divine Science teaches a living universe, a universe of God-presence, God, the only Creator—one Substance, one Life, one Intelligence.  All truth is one.

Divine Science does not deny the visible, but interprets form and force as Immanuel, God with us.  Reality is what God is and what God does. It is that which was, is, and always shall be.

Accepting the Spirit of God and living by it brings us understanding of our relationship to Jesus Christ, our elder brother, and reveals to us our membership in one great family.

Ignorance of our birthright does not change the truth of it—but it affects us by limiting our possibilities for expressing the infinite good that is always ours.  Humanity did not spring full grown from the Mind of God; we are to realize our kinship.  This inner process of attainment Divine Science calls spiritual evolution, mankinds coming to know God and Self and the Life’s processes.
