DIVINE SCIENCE and WHY I LIKE MY RELIGION!
What is Divine Science?
Divine Science is the study and the practice of the Truth of Being. The Divine
Scientist is one who opens his consciousness to God, so that the Will of God, which
is always Good, can manifest Itself in the life of that individual.
Divine Science is a system of beliefs--beliefs that may seem new and different--but
certainly are not. In fact, Jesus taught these truths to his followers. He
said, "I and my Father are one." Here he proclaimed God's Omnipresence.
Paul stressed this same truth when he said, "One God and Father of all, who
is above all, and through all, and in you all."
One of Paul's followers, Dionysius, an Athenian convert, defined divine science
as early as 50 A. D., when he wrote, "All things have as their foundation
the divine
goodness. That goodness maintains them, and nourishes them with its
abundance. To all created things it is given to manifest God's goodness.
Divine science reveals
itself to all creatures, according to their needs and the level of their
understanding, so that they are helped to remain true to their original nature.
The subject matter
of divine science is vast, yet minute, combining both breadth and intricacy."
OMNIPRESENCE
GOD IS ALL both INVISIBLE and VISIBLE;
ONE PRESENCE, KNOWLEDGE, and POWER IS ALL.
GOD IS SPIRIT, MIND, FIRST CAUSE, FATHER, PRINCIPLE--the SOURCE OF ALL.
GOD IS the LIFE and SUBSTANCE of HIS UNIVERSE.
GOD and GOD-IN-ACTION IS ALL THERE REALLY IS.
GOD IS EVERYWHERE; therefore, GOD IS HERE.
WHAT GOD IS, IS EVERYWHERE, therefore, WHAT GOD IS, IS HERE.
HEALTH, JOY, LOVE, WISDOM, SUPPLY and POWER ARE HERE.
WHATEVER GOD IS, IS HERE.
This REALIZATION IS MY CERTAINTY OF GOOD.
Is Divine Science Christian? YES, IT IS!
Emmet Fox, a world-renowned author, lecturer, and teacher and a Divine Scientist,
once referred to Divine Science as Primitive Christianity. By this,
he meant that we seek to keep alive the basic beliefs that supported the
early Christians.
Just as Jesus expressed freedom and mastery by consciously and continually
identifying himself with God, a Higher Power, so we experience greater freedom
and mastery when
we see the "Christedness" in ourselves and in others.
Do Divine Scientists Believe in the Bible?
We accept the Bible as a spiritual book that reveals man's search for God's true nature.
We recognize that it contains the wisdom of the ages. The Bible, when spiritually
understood, enables us to make God's Omnipresence our foundation for living, just as
it was the foundation upon which Jesus stood and accomplished all his good works.
The PRACTICE of the PRESENCE OF GOD is the WHOLE OF DIVINE SCIENCE.

Is Divine Science a New Religion?
Divine Science, as a religion, is as old as the efforts of mankind to establish
a relationship with its Source. As a teaching, Divine Science is as old as
Primitive Christianity. As an organization, Divine Science has celebrated its
centennial plus. Therefore, it is not new in the sense of a passing fancy or fad. But
in the experience of each individual, Divine Science is ever new--as insight and
comprehension increase through intuition and revelation on the path to a realization
of the Omni-presence.
DIVINE SCIENCE POINTS TO PONDER
The OMNIPRESENT NATURE of GOD is beautifully expressed
in the words of Tennyson who wrote, "Closer is he than breathing, nearer
than hands and feet."
The basic meaning of the word, religion, is "to bind back to God." Religion
is the soul finding its way back to God--its Source. Seneca of old said, "God is
near you, within you. A Holy Spirit dwells within us." And, in the Bible, I
Corinthians 3:16, Paul states, "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that
the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" As a religion, Divine Science helps us
become aware that GOD IS, and that GOD IS A PRESENCE TO KNOW and TO FEEL,
right where we
are. Divine Science, as a religion, is not static, but rather a continual
discovery of what God is and of what we are as children and expressions of
God. Through our
religion we find our way back to our oneness with God and God's Infinite
Wisdom and Power in our midst.
My religion binds me back to my God and my good. My religion helps me to understand
that God is with me and is ever willing to assist me through each experience. My
religion reveals to me that God listens and cares and loves me.
As I practice my religion, I practice the Presence of the Living God and I discover
that God lives in me, through me, as me.
My religion assures me that God’s Healing Presence is always with me and
is the Healing Spirit that restores me to my original state of Wholeness.
God's beauty is without end, nor can it be measured. His goodness is boundless and ever
at hand. His peace is my peace and His peace rules my heart each day.
My religion is a joy and becomes a satisfying experience to my soul. It
is then that I realize that the eternal call is to "come up higher." I respond
to the Higher Good that is within me. I LIKE MY RELIGION.
